Pupils at Tower House School blew away the New Year blues last week with their first rugby session of the year.
On Wednesday January 8, London Scottish coach, James Buckland, Head of Strength and Conditioning, Tim Harper and Community Development Officer, Ross Peacock, visited the Bank of England Sports Centre to put the Tower House U13s through their paces.
The session was gifted to the school by a lucky winner after being won during a silent auction at the 2013 Deutsche Bank Sportsman’s Dinner, held at Twickenham Stadium.
All the pupils were privileged to be offered the opportunity to train like a professional for the day, as the coaching team ran a high class session, putting into practice many of the training drills used on a regular basis by the London Scottish 1st XV.
Matt Barnett, 1st XV Head Coach at Tower House School who watched on during the session, said: “Our boys had an absolutely fantastic time training with the London Scottish coaches.
“There was an excellent mix of tactical advice, handling, contact and most importantly fun.
“The input the guys had has really helped further boost the confidence of our young rugby players at Tower House and we very much look forward to working in conjunction with London Scottish in the future.”
