London Scottish are delighted to announce the signings of James Love (Plymouth Albion), Andy Reay, Chevvy Pennycook (both Moseley) and James Ngan (Barking).

James Love

24 year old full back Love was an integral part of Plymouth’s successful battle against relegation, notching up 247 points over the course of the 2011/12 season. This achievement is made all the more remarkable as this was his first season in the Championship after making the jump up from Hartpury College in National Three South West.

Director of Rugby Simon Amor is excited to see Love further his development at The Athletic Ground next season.

Amor: “James scored nearly 250 points for Plymouth last season which is obviously a fantastic kicking record. However, he is also a great attacking threat as well with ball in hand. I’m really excited to see how he develops in London Scottish colours next season.”

Andy Reay

29 year old centre Reay joins London Scottish from Moseley. Reay has won 9 caps for England U21, which included winning the U21 Six Nations Grand Slam in 2004.

After spells with Harlequins and Bristol, Reay then spent four years at Billesley Common and Simon Amor is delighted to bring in a player who knows the division inside out.

Amor: “Andy is a good leader, having been Moseley’s captain during the playoffs. He’s a very solid defender, a powerful runner and has very good handling skills. Someone of his experience will only improve our backline.”

Reay: “After speaking to Simon you can see the club is pushing in the right direction. I’m looking forward to the new challenge and testing myself in new environments.”

Chevvy Pennycook

25 year old Bristolian back row Pennycook made 16 appearances for Moseley last season after recovering from an early season injury. He arrives at The Athletic Ground with not only Premiership experience with Bristol, but also with England U20 experience in 2007.

His addition to the squad is another that brings proven Championship quality to the Exiles as they prepare for a second campaign in the division. Forwards coach Alex Codling is impressed with the qualities Pennycook will bring to the squad.

Codling: “He is an outstanding ball carrier, has an immense physical presence and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Pennycook: “With the signings London Scottish have made, you can see the club is moving in the right direction. From last season, I liked the look of the way they played, and they have a great coaching set up that I want to learn from. I’m really looking forward to the new challenge.”

James Ngan

27 year old back row James Ngan joins from Barking, where he has spent the last five years. Director of Rugby Simon Amor and forwards coach Alex Codling have been tracking Ngan’s progress, with Codling having already worked with him at Barking.

Codling: “I’ve worked with James before at Barking and he is an outstanding no. 6. I’m delighted to be working with him again.”

Ngan: “I’m excited about the challenge of Championship rugby and working with Alex Codling again. I’m really looking forward to the start of the season.”
