Twickenham, London. 14th, November, 2012. – Rugby Expo Awards.

It was a night to remember for London Scottish Rugby Club at this year’s Rugby Expo awards. With some of rugby’s high profile players, administrators and media specialists in attendance the clubs recent Corporate Social Responsibility programme (School Of Hard Knocks) sponsored by Deutsche Bank, came runners up in the Community programme category for 2011/12. CSR programmes, the types of which are only normally associated with the Premiership’s clubs, are now being rolled out by London Scottish. The SOHK initiative targets 13-14 year olds who are pre NEET candidates (Not in Education, Employment or Training) and come from a disadvantaged or socially deprived backgrounds. Like its adult counterpart the endeavour is to transform the lives of participants using rugby as a medium.

Coming runners up to the Hitz Programme that can be seen throughout many premiership clubs currently, shows another example of how London Scottish as a club and Deutsche Bank as sponsor are always trying to be forward thinking.

John Hockey, chairman of Rugby Ventures, organisers of Rugby Expo said:
“Our judges faced a genuine challenge to separate some excellent entries in many categories and this year’s entries confirmed that the Rugby Expo Awards are a reflection of the growing professionalism, dedication and hard work which characterises the sport. Our congratulations go not only to the winners but to every club or organisation which entered and we look forward to growing the Awards yet again on 2013.”
