Last Sunday the London Scottish Lions Colts returned to action in their fourth competitive league match of the season and it was another home game at Kings House Sports Ground, played on the No.1 pitch. Having finish third in Pool A, the Lions Colts were up against Farnham Colts B who finished second in Pool B. The fixture was a Quarter Final with the winner advancing to the top Semi-Final and, if successful, will get a chance to play for silverware at the Finals Day in a couple of weeks.

It was glorious Spring weather conditions at Kings House and the game was played in bright sunshine. The first half saw the Lions Colts get off to a slow to start making some unforced errors and needed a strong defence to keep Farnham, who started the game much stronger, from scoring in the early minutes. However, the young Lions were able to shake off the start and soon got into their work, reducing errors, stringing together phases and applying pressure in the contact area to get over the gain line and forcing missed tackles. The pressure resulted in a couple of nicely worked tries to winger Harry and a break away try to flanker Evan. HT Lions Colts 19-0 Farnham.

The Lions Colts started the second half much better and stronger with centre Zieke creating a line break for a well deserved try. Shortly after, the forwards were able to dominate the contact area within the 5m area before prop Max was barged his way over for a well earned try. Flanker Evan then scored a further two tries to complete his hat-trick and fullback Cormac scored a solo effort try to round out the game. As in previous games the Lions Colts set piece worked well with the scrum and lineout both laying the platform for the backs to demonstrate some strong running lines and handling skills. Despite the increasing scoreline Farnham continued to fight for everything, putting the Lions under pressure at times and never gave up. Full Time score Lions Colts 54-5 Farnham.

The game was played in good spirits between the two teams and the young Lions continued to grow as a team taking the learnings from the previous games and apply it in this game. Consistency in selection was also been a factor with same players being available for the last few league games, and all of the squad demonstrated great Lions spirit and the teamwork of a much more established team. Once again there was a lot of talent on display for London Scottish Lions and the future looks bright for the club.

A special thank to all our supporters turned out to support us. And finally, London Scottish Lions Colts would not be possible without the fantastic support from the Velocity Trade team and their sponsorship.
