London Scottish make their mark at Richmond Running Festival

Last Sunday the London Scottish Community Development team visited the Richmond Running Festival.

London Scottish, including Mac the Lion, were on hand to offer plenty of fun and engaging rugby activities, including TAG drop-in sessions and a fastest pass competition in the Deutsche Bank speed passing cage as well as other activities aimed at introducing kids to the game of rugby.

With the first home game of the Greene King IPA Championship taking place at the Athletic Ground tomorrow, the development team provided those interested with a 50 per cent ticket deal to encourage those of all ages to come and support their London Scottish.

With the summer, off season, seeing a number of new recruits join the mini and junior section, Community Development Officer, Ross Peacock, was positive about the forthcoming season for all involved at the club.

He said: “This is a very exciting time for all at London Scottish. With grassroots rugby continuing to grow and develop, the introduction of our senior academy squad, along with a good start to the Championship for the 1st XV squad, there is a great vibe around the club.

“The Richmond Running Festival was a great opportunity to once again push London Scottish in front of a large audience and to inform those of all ages what is on offer to them at their local rugby club. I am very excited to see what return we get from the day.”
