Nottingham Stun London Scottish

Both sides came to the RAG on Friday night with hopes of finishing the first block of Championship games on a high and with a positive record. However, it would be the away side, Nottingham, who would come away with all five points in a strong performance against London Scottish.

Nottingham started the faster of the two sides with a quick opening score, taking advantage of a missed tackle off first phase. However, London Scottish hit back controlling much of the first half and putting the Nottingham attack under a lot of pressure.

This pressure eventually led to a key error under the Nottingham posts which allowed Will Brown to pounce on a loose ball and pick up to score and draw the scores level.

Nottingham though would go into half time ahead scoring towards the end of the first forty as they were the more accurate of the two sides.

They would extend this lead after the break, winning a penalty in front of the posts and taking the points. London Scottish did briefly close the deficit through a lovely finish in the corner from Noah Ferdinand but parity was only restored for a short while.

Nottingham then hit the gas, scoring four unanswered tries in the last 20 minutes of the game. Injuries and ill discipline hampered London Scottish’s effort to get back in the game but Nottingham must be credited for their physicality for the full eighty minutes. Well deserving off their bonus point win in a very impressive performanc.e
