London Scottish will again return to Scotland’s capital this summer as they face Edinburgh in a preseason game on Saturday 31st August.
Last summer the Scots had a week long tour of Scotland as they trained at St Andrews University, visited sponsors based up in Scotland including Cairnhill and Glengoyne and trained against both Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors.
The 2019/20 squad will head up north again for a few training days as part of preseason preparations for the new 2019/20 Greene King IPA Championship season. The squad will be based in Perth for a few days training before heading to Edinburgh to face the Pro14 outfit at BT Murrayfield stadium on the Saturday before returning back to London on the Sunday.
This will be a brilliant opportunity for the new exile players to test themselves against players playing in the Pro14 and will be a good gauge of how the Scots are shaping up ahead of the 2019/20 Championship season.
A few of the 19/20 new arrivals and current players will be familiar with the Edinburgh side. Lewis Wynne was of course recalled by the SRU to play for Edinburgh last season as injury cover, whilst new signings Kyle Whyte and Alex Toolis have both been signed by Edinburgh in the past few years.
We would encourage any London Scottish supporters based in the capital or the surrounding areas to pop along and get behind the Scots as we test ourselves against Richard Cockerill’s side at BT Murrayfield.
