Worcester Warriors winger Sam Smith has joined London Scottish on loan for the rest of the season.

The winger joined the Warriors in the summer of 2014, and scored 15 tries in 19 matches for them in the 2014/15 campaign, but has since found game-time hard to come by after their promotion to the Aviva Premiership.

The 25-year-old spent five years at Harlequins and racked up 29 tries in 79 matches for the Premiership side, and also represented England at Under 16, Under 18 and Under 20 levels.

Smith is available immediately, and will be training this week ahead of the Greene King IPA Championship match against Nottingham at Lady Bay on Sunday, as the Scots look for their sixth consecutive victory in all competitions.

Head Coach Peter Richards is delighted to have Smith at the Athletic Ground: “Sam is a top class winger and we are excited to have him. He brings some excellent qualities as we look to build on our good form in recent weeks.”

He added: “He scored against us last year and we are very grateful to Worcester for allowing Sam to join us, as well as Alex Grove who has been a regular over the last month.”
