Scotland A Call Up For Jamie Stevenson

30th January 2013
admin

Jamie Stevenson has been called up to the Scotland A squad for their match against the England Saxons at Newcastle’s Kingston Park on Friday 1st February.

The scrum-half was in the Scotland U20s squad last year and now advances to the A side, one level below senior international rugby. He has been named on the replacements bench in a strong side that also includes Nikki Walker, Richie Vernon and Alasdair Dickinson – all of whom have 20 or more full Scotland caps.

Stevenson has been in good form in a London Scottish shirt recently, turning in an eye-catching display against Bedford Blues before scoring a hat-trick of tries in the B&I Cup win over Gala.

Stevenson's inclusion follows yesterday's announcement that Tommy Spinks will be in the Scotland U20s squad for the match against England on Friday and for the rest of the forthcoing Six Nations.

England Saxons v Scotland A takes place at Kingston Park in Newcastle on Friday 1st February, kicking off at 8pm. There will be live coverage of the match, and the U20s fixture, on Sky Sports 2.
