Scots not taking Carnegie lightly as they select strong side

After a strong performance last week at The Richmond Athletic Ground against the Dragons Premiership Select, London Scottish head to Ilkley RFC to take on Yorkshire Carnegie.

This week sees the return of Ben Mosses, Craig Holland and Jonathan Mills to the starting lineup as Scottish focus on the British & Irish Cup before the return, next week, of the Greene King IPA Championship.

The front row remains unchanged from the Dragons game. Kyle Baillie is rested in the second row and replaced by experienced veteran Jonathan Mills, who will skipper the side. Mills joins Gregor Gillanders in the engine room.

Max Berry will make his first competitive start for the Scots at number eight, replacing fellow university graduate Matt Eliet. Club Captain Chris Walker and Welshman Matt Marley retain their spots at 6 & 7 respectively.

Highlanders and Academy starlet, Josh Barton starts at scrum half and will command the Scots around the field with Basil Strang who starts at 10.

Ex-Bristol centre Ben Mosses returns to the Scots starting side after a few weeks on the sidelines recovering from a few niggles. He will be looking to replicate his early season form with the Scots. He is partnered by new arrival from Sale Sharks who shifts from full back to outside centre.

Rob Stevenson and ex-Scotland Under 20 Alec Coombes keep their places on the wing. Craig Holland plays at full back.

An experienced replacements bench will be looking to add impact to the game when they come on. Dominic McGeekie will make his first appearance for the Scots this season after recovering from an ankle injury.

London Scottish (15-1): Holland, Coombes, Ingall, Mosses, Stevenson, Strang, Barton; Berry, Marley, Walker, Gillanders, Mills ©, Waldren, Austin, Appiah

Replacements: George, Harris, Cringle, McGeekie, Atkinson, Hoadley, Sharp.
