Scots Ring The Changes For Bristol Clash

17th October 2014

London Scottish make 10 changes in personnel for the visit of in-form Bristol Rugby to Richmond Athletic Ground on Saturday, 3pm kick-off.

First team captain Mark Bright, Adam Preocanin, Adam Kwasnicki, Neil Best and Chris Walker all earn recalls to the forward pack alongside prop James Hallam with James Phillips, who this morning was called-up to the Championship XV squad to face Canada next month, moving to the second row.

In the back division, Academy winger Charlie Dockery retains his place with last season’s leading Championship try scorer Miles Mantella returning to the starting XV having made his 50th appearance for Scottish off the bench at Pontypridd last weekend.

Half-backs Dan Newton and Jamie Stevenson are also named in the starting line-up as is PG Gidlow who partners Glasgow Warriors loanee Connor Braid in midfield.

The Scots aim to bounce back from Saturday’s 23-17 B&I Cup Pool One opening day defeat to Pontypridd at Sardis Road but face a confident Bristol side which is unbeaten this season.

Backs coach Peter Richards said: “Bristol are a quality team and we found that out at Ashton Gate last month in the league encounter.

“But we are unbeaten at home this year and want to preserve that record on Saturday.

“We are putting out a strong team in the hope of ending our poor record against Bristol.

“It’s important psychologically to match-up against them in this game because we are facing them a few times this season.

“Whatever side Andy Robinson selects it will be a stern test for us. They have quality throughout the squad.”

Match tickets can be bought online here and start at just £12 for members and £15 for non-members (Clan, standing tickets) with Under-16s able to get into the ground for FREE (Clan, standing tickets).

If you have a Richmond Card you can watch any London Scottish home match this season for just £10 (Clan, standing tickets).

Match Sponsor, Lookers Land Rover, Battersea, will be offering exclusive deals for London Scottish members on Saturday at their Promotions Unit which will be on site in the car park as you head into the ground.

The Highlanders have a vital home match against Worthing on Saturday, 2pm kick-off and would appreciate as much support as possible before the First XV's match against Bristol begins. A number of the Club's Academy players will be taking part in the game.
