London Scottish held firm in the face of a second half comeback from visitors Chinnor to come away with a crucial five-point home victory in the Champ.
The first half was vintage London Scottish at their absolute best. A try in the first two minutes from Ludo Kolade after Hayden Hyde broke down the left hand side, linked up with Jack Leslie who threw a beautiful offload out the back for Kolade to collect and score.
Just ten minutes later Scottish broke again up the right hand side and were dragged down just short of the line. Matt Wilkinson was there to follow up and score from short range.
It got better and better for Scottish as a wonderful set piece move saw Hyde away down the left hand side. He cut in to evade the covering defence before finding Jonny Law on the switch we set him away for the score.
With just five minutes left of the first half Hayden Hyde secured the bonus point at Scottish exploited the short side to set the flying winger free.
Chinnor would hit back just before the half time break making the most of their power up front to flop over for the Score.
However, the sides went in with Scottish leading 24-7 at the break in a performance typified by some amazing attack but also underpinned by physical defence.
The second half though was a different story, Scottish hung in their for most of the half under extreme pressure from their opponents. The Exiles stuck to task and never made it easy for Chinnor but the away side would score two more tries by the 73rd minute to take the score to 24-21 with all the momentum with the away side.
However, Scottish would hold out for a famous win thanks to some stout defence and excellent game management in the final few minutes of the game. Scottish now go into a couple of weeks break before the final block of the season as they bid to continue their survival run!
