London Scottish put in a strong second half display to rally against table topping Ealing Trailfinders. Despite vast disparities in budget and resources, London Scottish competed valiantly all game and despite coming out second best fought for every inch.
The first half did not go to plan for Scottish, ceding territory and possession from errors and ill discipline. This allowed Ealing to take control of the game and rack up four tries in the first half.
However, the Scots had one try chalked off by the touch judge owing to a late call from the side after the referee had given what looked to be a try. Earlier in the piece Scottish also thought they had a dead certain score as well but only for this to be ruled out as the post obscured the referee’s view of Stephen Kerins’ short range effort.
After the break, Ealing scored first again and it looked like it could be a long afternoon for the Scots. However, they quickly rallied and took control of much of the second forty. A try from returning Hayden Hyde on the right wing as he finished off a lovely move.
Then shortly after Solodrau Radianirova got the Scots motoring as the flying Fijian continued to have a very impressive day for the Exiles.
Ealing would pick up a final try of their own in the final minutes of the game as Scottish failed to make the most of more territory and possession which meant they would leave the RAG pointless.
Despite this, winning the second half has given the Exiles some big pride going into a big Christmas period where they need to pick up points fast.
