Scottish Take on Quins at The Stoop

On a cloudy day in West London, London Scottish made the short trip to Harlequins to complete their pre season preparations in a final friendly before the start of the season. With many familiar faces on both sides as well as a sprinkling of new talent including Welsh internationals at fullback for both sides it was a day to savour for the Club.

The first forty was a tense affair with both sides building into the game. There were mistakes and inaccuracies on both sides of the ball but London Scottish more than held their own against Premiership opposition.

Denied a try in the latter stages of the first half after Austin Wallis flopped over the line the Exiles would argue that perhaps had the better of the opening salvo. However, they did have to weather significant periods of pressure. As a result, the two teams went to the break scoreless.

However, it would be the home side who would have the better of the second half. Errors from Scottish gifted Harlequins a couple of tries after coughing up possession in key areas. Harlequins also showed their trademark flair and handling ability.

As a result, the home side ran out 35-0 winners after a more one-sided second forty. London Scottish will feel they perhaps gave too much away against the Premiership side but overall will feel this was a very successful hit out against strong opposition.
