For the third time this season London Scottish were cut down by a late second half come back to leave them heartbroken after a last minute kick from Will Maisey completed a 15 point second half comeback. Full credit must go to Bedford who’s bench made a massive impact and changed the game in their favour.
This all transpired after London Scottish raced into a 17-point lead in the first half. An Alec Lloyd-Seed penalty after 20 minutes followed by two excellent tries. London Scottish at their free flowing best going from wing to wing and cutting through the Bedford defence.
Sean Kerr dotted down first with a lovely line inside the 22 splitting the defence. Austin Wallis would then do the same a few minutes later as he used his power to crash over from short range after a great set of phaseplay.
After the break, Scottish started the stronger once again and converted a penalty through Alec Lloyd-Seed to add an extra three to the lead.
However, the game turned in the last 15 minutes when Zach Carr was sin binned. Bedford built the pressure well and scored two quick fire tries whilst the Exiles were down to 14 men.
Bedford kept up the onslaught and forced another sin binning in the final minutes. Will Maisey stepped up from the penalty and slotted the winning points.
Scottish will bemoan another lead let slip. A solution they will be desperate to find as they travel to Caldy in a week’s time.
