London Scottish can today confirm the signing of South African Prop Kurt Schonert.
The loose-head has played most of his rugby in KwaZulu-Natal for Durban Collegians, before heading to England and training with Gloucester over the summer.
The prop is looking forward to getting started at the Athletic Ground: “I’m pleased to be here at Scottish, it’s a great club with a lot of history so I’m excited to get going.”
He added: “My brother (Nick Schonert) players for Worcester Warriors, and he recommended playing in England and how high the quality is to test yourself against the best.”
Schonert has made clear his goals for the 15/16 campaign: “This season I’ll be looking to break into the squad, and hopefully the starting line-up.
“Scottish had a great season last year so to be a part of that this year would be very special.”
