Marc Mansour, who played for London Scottish in the late 1990s and early 2000s following training as a Doctor at Edinburgh University, will be swimming in the inaugural Swim Serpentine event on 24th-25th September to raise money for the Andrea Firebrace Foundation.
Andrea’s husband Henry was a fellow 1st team player in the early 2000s with Mark at London Scottish.
Andrea developed myeloid leukaemia (AML) and died last summer at the age of only forty-three. She had two children with Henry, Holly and Freddie.
Henry decided to create the Andrea Firebrace Foundation and following discussions with, Marc who is a Consultant at University College London and was involved in treating Andrea, has decided that funding a PhD specifically on AML would be an effective way to assist in making improvements in the treatment of AML.
