St Andrew’s Day Dinner and Dance: Report

06th December 2011
admin

The London Scottish St Andrew’s Day Dinner and Dance was celebrated on Thursday December 1st at the Millennium Tara Copthorne Hotel in Kensington. Over 200 guests attended the evening, and enthusiastically danced into the early hours!

Following a VIP drinks reception, Norrie Jackson was piped in to the main room to address the Haggis (courtesy of Best of Scottish sponsor Simon Howie) in typically enthusiastic manner. Club President Rod Lynch provided the Selkirk Grace, before the meal got underway.

Following a well supported auction that raised valuable funds for the Club, a question and answer session was conducted featuring London Scottish Head Coach Simon Amor, CEO Tony Copsey and wing Agustin Gosio, as well as Scotland and Wasps player Hugo Southwell. Discussions centred on what Scotland could learn from the World Cup performance, and there was a certain degree of satisfaction from certain members of the panel following the RFU and England team's well-publicised problems!

With the evening being closed with music and dancing courtesy of License to Ceilidh, the dance-floor was full for the remainder of the evening.

Many thanks again to our Best of Scottish sponsors Black Grouse, Highland Spring, Walker's Biscuits and Simon Howie for supplying their products for the evening, and thanks again to GLH for offering all guests a discounted car service for the evening.
