Stylish Under 15s see off Welwyn

London Scottish under-15s secured a highly impressive 36-5 away league victory over Welwyn on Sunday.

The foundations were laid in the first half as the boys raced into a 24-0 lead before the interval and stoic defending in the second half helped ensure a resounding victory.

The Scottish boys had been asked by their coaches to ensure they got off to a good start in this league encounter and they responded in style.

After a couple of initial surges to the line, Scottish were held up before, from the ensuing scrum, Number 8 Sam scored with just four minutes on the clock.

Josh added the first of three impressive conversions.

The visitors continued to dominate but it took until the 18th minute before Szymon finished off some powerful forward drives with a fine charge to score under the posts.

The backs then got in on the act with Raphael and Liam both making good runs, each scoring out wide to leave the half-time score 24-0 to London Scottish.

Playing uphill in the second half, again the coaches asked for an important opening effort.

The boys responded and Raph added his second score with just a minute on the clock.

Welwyn then had their best passage of play and, were it not for three try-saving tackles by full-back Isaac might have added to the five points they scored in the second half.

The final points though went to Scottish when Liam capped a fine performance, scoring after chasing a clever kick by fly-half Iain.

Well done to the whole squad on an impressive away performance on a difficult pitch in windy conditions.
