Team News: Williams brings up 50 as Scots aim to end 2017 with a win

Electric winger Matt Williams will make his 50th appearance for London Scottish as they head North to take on Nottingham this Friday.

Williams joined Scottish ahead of the 2014/15 season but he has been plagued by two serious long-term knee injuries. Despite these injuries Williams has worked incredibly hard to fight his way back to fitness each time and has always worked his way back into the 1st XV squad.

Previously of Bristol, Doncaster and Sale Sharks Williams is one of the most potent wingers with ball in hand and will be looking to get over the whitewash this Friday, following on from his score last week against Bedford.

The Scots will be looking to build on their performance against Bedford Blues just before Christmas. This game was a try bonanza, including 15 tries, but the game eventually ended as a draw, 52-52, with the Scots missing a late drop goal which would have given them the win.

Nottingham are currently 4th in the Greene King IPA Championship after a great first half of the season. Scottish will be looking to turn over the Green & Whites after their narrow 33-31 loss to them earlier in the season at The Athletic Ground.

Dave Morris has been forced into a few changes as players struggle with niggling injuries. Phil Cringle misses out but is replaced by Dino Waldren whilst Club Captain Chris Walker is replaced by Kyle Baillie.

USA International Waldren joins Isaac Miller and Derrick Appiah in the front row. Jonathan Mills skippers the side once again and partners Tjiuee Uanivi in the second row.

Canadian International Baillie comes in on the blindside as Joe Atkinson shifts from number eight to openside and James Tyas moves to number eight.

The backline remains unchanged from the Bedford Blues game. Alex Walker and Jake Sharp continue to pull the strings from the half backs whilst Ben Mosses and in-form Ross Neal are in the centres. Neal has scored tries in back-to-back Championship games.

Charlie Ingall is on the left wing, whilst Matt Williams brings up his fiftieth appearance on his favoured right wing. Tom Parton continues at full back.

Pete Austin, Ewan McQuillin and Ben Onyeama Christie are the front row replacements. Ed Milne and Matt Marley are further forward options on the bench. Ed Hoadley and Fraser Lyle remain on the bench from the Bedford game.
