London Scottish can announce the capture of prop Lewis Thiede on a permanent basis after the London Wasps front-rower had spent the past two seasons at the Athletic Ground on a dual-registration agreement.

Doncaster-born Thiede joins London Scottish after several impressive performances in the blue shirt over the past two seasons on a part-time basis on loan from Wasps, where he spent two years as part of the Club’s academy.

Thiede: “I wanted to stay at London Scottish. The Club has a great deal of potential and it’s a very exciting time to be here. I’ve enjoyed being around as a dual-registered player over the past two years and I’m now really looking forward to becoming a permanent member of the squad next season.”

After joining Wasps from Doncaster in 2011, he missed much of the following campaign through injury but recovered to play 9 Championship games on loan at Scottish. He also appeared in 6 matches for the Club during the 2012-13 season and will make the permanent switch to the Athletic Ground ahead of next season.

The 22 year old is primarily a tighthead prop and will add to the list of front row options available to London Scottish as they aim to improve upon last season’s 8th place finish.

Amor: “Lewis is an excellent addition to our squad and we’re delighted to have brought him on board in a permanent capacity after his appearances for us over the past two seasons. He has performed excellently for us whenever called upon and we’re confident that he can help us in our progression. He’s an impressive young talent and we’re looking forward to helping him progress.”
