On Sunday 26th October 140 years ago, London Welsh played their first ever match against London Scottish.

In honour of that, and to help LW celebrate their 140 birthday, the U14s played an exhibition match at Old Deer Park, Kew this afternoon. We were a few players down due to half-term, football, injury and school trips so LW gave us some subs.

The Scottish boys went 5 tries to 2 up only to see the match end 5-5 with Welsh winning by a conversation.

For the first game of the season, we were outstanding and is encouraging for the season ahead.

Three boys wore the red lion on their chest for the first time ever and all three made an excellent contribution. They’re now London Scots forever.
