The U18 Young Lions took on Ealing on Sunday, January 4 and both sides wanted to get rid of the cobwebs and played with intent from the start.
It was Ealing who were dominating possession early on and kept attacking but resolute defence denied the visitors any points.
London Scottish however managed to get some ball and the pressure created in attack got them a penalty from which Scottish played.
A midfield set-up provided a good blindside for quick ball to be passed down the line for the outside centre of the Young Lions to go over for a great try.
Another good try followed in the first half by Scottish but Ealing struck back narrowing the gap making it 14-7.
Ealing showed good enterprise in the second half to bring the scores level but the Scottish forwards dominated set piece and the strong scrum allowed the Young Lions back line to play from a good base.
Scottish piled on the pressure late in the second half with the scrums which resulted in a good few dynamic phases close to the Ealing line.
With options both sides the Young Lions sniped through a gap to score the decider.
The final score was 19-14 for Scottish in an entertaining game where rustiness in both teams was evident.
