Welbeck Group and Scottish relationship grows even stronger

The Welbeck Group, one of the UK’s fastest growing providers of financial services, has re-signed a twelve month sponsorship deal with London Scottish, which takes the company’s association with the club to five years.

Tony Copsey, CEO of London Scottish, said of the sponsorship: “Greg Knight and Welbeck Group have provided fantastic support throughout the past five years, and I look forward to building on the success of both organisations, while delivering an exciting range of benefits.

“The ongoing relationship is strong and we will continue to build on the partnership over the next season. It is great to have Welbeck Group as part of the team once again.”

Under the terms of the sponsorship deal, the Welbeck Group will be prominent on all club literature, playing and replica jerseys, ground hoardings and in the clubhouse. The deal also sees the Welbeck Group offering London Scottish players, members and supporters specialist financial advice.

On signing the deal, Greg Knight, Managing Partner of Welbeck Group, commented, “Success in sport is a strong example for our business and it is good to give something back to a club that is ambitious to progress and has
invested extensively in community initiatives and youth development.

ABOUT LONDON SCOTTISH
London Scottish Football Club was founded on Wednesday 10th April 1878 at Mackay's Tavern in Ludgate Hill. The playing strip has been blue shirts with a red Lion, white shorts and red Socks for more than 130 years. Since the club was formed, it has produced in the region of 220 Scottish Internationals and four Lions captains.

In 1987, the national league structure was formed and in 1996 the game turned professional. A promising start to the professional era unfortunately ended in insolvency, so the original amateur club rejoined the leagues, but was effectively demoted 9 leagues by the RFU.

Subsequently, the club has gained 6 promotions in 9 years and now plays in National League 1, where it anticipates enjoying another very successful season.
