Ahead of a feature game this Friday night and the visit of Bedford Blues to the RAG, we sat down with Harry Clayton, Dan Nutton and Head Coach Joe Gray. Speaking all things London Scottish, part time rugby and Friday Night Lights at the RAG.

“It’s the most fun I’ve ever had playing rugby.” Commented Dan Nutton on his time at the Club. “It’s the reason I’m still here and long may it continue.”

“We know Bedford are going to throw the ball about and are a very dangerous side. We know we have to be at our best to counter them.

“Friday night’s are electric at the RAG, we all love a Friday night and the noise the crowd make, it’s going to be a great occasion.”

Harry Clayton commented on part time rugby, “what’s unique about this environment is our part time model, everyone comes from work and comes to enjoy it but also to do really well as a squad. We’ve had a tough start to the season but I’m confident we can turn that around.”

Head Coach Joe Gray spoke about his side’s start to the season “we’ve been really competitive for long periods of matches but we’ve probably just lacked that killer punch. We need to turn pressure into points on Friday night in order to be successful.”

Over the course of the season, London Scottish have held onto the ball well and been an attacking threat throughout and the stats back it up. Noah Ferdinand made 105 metres last round and lead the league in line breaks at Worcester.

Whilst Marijn Huis leads the league in tackle turnovers with 4 across the season. He also sits 5th in attacking ruck entries this year. Showing how well London Scottish have attacked this year.

Conversely, opponents Bedford have also been a serious attacking threat this year. They sit second in tries scored (29) and 3rd in points scored (192) across the league.

Ryan Hutler, leads the league in metres made with 298 in five rounds. Whilst Dean Adamson is the joint top try scorer with 7 so far this season. There is no doubt Bedford are going to throw the ball around on Friday night and London Scottish will be relying on their physical defence to counter it.
