London Scottish is delighted to announce the signing of Namibian international Tinus du Plessis for the remainder of the season.
The flanker featured in all of Namibia’s matches at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, and received the man-of-the-match award in their one-point defeat to Georgia at Sandy Park.
The 31-year-old, who has 48 caps for Namibia, also has experience of playing in England, after stints at Wasps, Rotherham Titans and Cornish All Blacks.
Du Plessis said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Scottish until the end of the season and will be giving my all to the team as we look to get some wins on the board.”
He added: “Hopefully I can pass on some of my experience to the squad and after training this week I’m really excited about getting on to the pitch whenever I get the chance.”
Head Coach Peter Richards is also pleased with the new arrival. “Tinus is exactly what we need and can add some real pedigree to our pack. He was outstanding during the World Cup so we are excited that he will be featuring in a Scottish jersey.
“We are all determined to improve results in the next part of the season and with Tinus joining us we are confident that it will help us achieve our aims.”
