London Scottish have extended the contract of a ‘Premiership’ quality hooker according to head coach James Buckland after Adam Kwasnicki committed himself to the Club for a further year.

The 28-year-old is currently London Scottish’s longest serving player who has made 91 first team appearances since joining from Barking in 2010.

Kwasnicki’s new contract means the Club have secured his services until at least the end of the 2015/16 season and he has been further rewarded with the Club captaincy following the retirement of Lewis Calder earlier this year.

Head coach James Buckland, said: “Adam has been around the Club for a while and we need players like him who know where the Club has come from in the past few years and who can lead us into the future.

“He is a player who would not look out of place in a Premiership squad and to extend his contract for a further year is fantastic news.”

The former Leicester Tigers hooker added: “Kwaz is a tremendously consistent hooker and we are fortunate to have him. He is a leader on and off the field and it was an easy decision to offer him the Club captaincy.”

Kwasnicki said: “I am delighted to extend my contract and equally thrilled to be Club captain for the forthcoming season.

“I have been at the Club four years now and I love the place.

“The Club has really moved forward since I joined and I want to be part of what is an exciting future.”

He continued: “There are a number of new faces who have joined Scottish this summer.

“We are gelling well as a squad and we will be looking to hit the ground running when the league campaign starts next month. Hopefully we can go one better this year and get into that top four.”
