London Scottish is pleased to reveal that Alec Coombes has extended his contract, meaning he will remain at the Athletic Ground for the 2017/18 season.

The winger will enter his fourth year with the Scots after originally beginning his time at the club with the academy as a teenager.

The 21-year-old had his breakthrough year during the 16/17 season, featuring on 22 occasions in either the centre or on the wing, scoring six tries in the process.

Coombes has previously represented Scotland at Under 20 level, and after making his debut for the club back in 2014/15 he will be one of the most experienced members of the squad moving forward.

He was given his first consistent game time at the end of the 15/16 season, and burst on to the scene with a try in the victory over Moseley, showing impressive pace to dive over the line for his debut try.

The versatile back is pleased to be remaining with the Scots for another year as he looks to continue his progress.

“I am very happy to have re-signed with the club. London Scottish is a great environment for me to continue my development as a player and I am looking forward to the challenges the new season will bring.”

He added: “With all the exciting changes being made I see many opportunities to help bring some long-deserved success to the club.”
