London Scottish have added international quality to their front-row after completing the signing of American prop Dino Waldren.

The tight-head prop arrives at the Athletic Ground after representing his country in the summer, and he adds significant depth to a formidable looking scrum for the 2017/18 campaign.

Waldren has earned seven caps for the US Eagles after making his debut against Romania in November 2016. His last appearance for the Americans was against Canada in July, where he came up against fellow London Scot Kyle Baillie.

The 26-year-old has spent time playing in Europe before, featuring for Blackrock College in Dublin where he gained plenty of experience.

The front-rower is looking forward to testing himself in the Greene King IPA Championship.

“I’m very excited to be playing rugby in the country where it all started. The amount of history and rugby talent in England and across the U.K. is breathtaking, coming from the States. I am just grateful for the opportunity and excited for what is to come.”

Director of Rugby Dave Morris is thrilled to have Waldren in his squad as the start of the Greene King IPA Championship season draws closer.

“We are delighted to welcome Dino to the London Scottish family. Speaking to Dino I liked his thirst for knowledge to be the best he can be.”

He added: “It was also obvious that the values of rugby have had a big impact on his life to date. He is a powerful and athletic player who will add great competition at tight-head.”
