This Saturday London Scottish will play host to the auld foe Richmond at The Athletic Ground for the final game of the 2019/20 Greene King IPA Championship season.
It has already been confirmed that Richmond will be relegated down to National One after this game but that does not mean it is a ‘dead rubber’ for both sides. Both London Scottish and Richmond will be wanting to finish their season on a high with the Scots chasing an 8th placed finish in the Championship.
Bragging rights are on the line and that is all that matters to both sets of supporters especially as they may not be up for grabs again for some time.
Richmond currently lead the head to head statistics for the 2019/20 season after winning 2 out of the 3 matches between the rivals. The relegated side won the game on the opening day of the league campaign and also won one of the Championship Cup games during the winter months. London Scottish have a single win in the other Championship Cup game but will be looking to even things up this weekend and have the bragging rights for the foreseeable future.
We will also be celebrating Mark Bright’s 15oth appearance for the Scots on Saturday as well as Richie Vernon’s last game of professional rugby as he retires. This game is shaping up to be a special one.
