Sitting down with the most capped player in the London Scottish squad, Harry Sheppard has seen it all in an Exiles shirt. 79 appearances for the Club and been in West London since 2015, he’s a stalwart of London Scottish.

Entering into another pre season Harry has said “it’s always good getting back into pre season, it’s a tough time but we’ve had quite a few new lads so we’re keen to get in and do the hard work. Now we’re near the start of the rugby we’re nearly there.”

Commenting on some of those new faces, Harry noted “you mentioned Jonah straight away, tons of experience. He’s come in with a good voice and an older head.” Harry was also quick to mention some of “the younger lads you have also come in, Alex Wardell and Tommy [Wilstead], lads who are keen to impress, they have done really well.”

Looking ahead to this weekend Harry, like the rest of the squad is excited about the trip to Harlequins. “It’s going to be a good one, we’ve played them a couple of times now but first time at the Stoop so that is going to be a great occasion.”

Speaking on the value of these sorts of games Harry noted “I’m looking forward to more minutes in the bank. Playing these games it’s intensity a lot of the time. A lot of it is the levels you are exposed to, physicality wise and it’s a little bit quicker. You have to be on it with your strikes and your details so you do get a lot of learnings from those games which will stand us in good stead going into Coventry in a couple of weeks time.”
