James Tyas has signed a new deal with London Scottish that will keep him at the Club for next season.
The former Bath Academy back rower has been a constant feature in this year’s side in the back row making 21 appearances. Last season he only managed 12 appearances as his season was disrupted with injury, so he will be chuffed with his impressive return this year.
Tyas adds a lot around the field with his dynamic carries, a tireless work rate in defence and an astute knowledge of lineout detail and he will be looking for a strong year next season.
The abrasive forward, who can play across all three positions in the back row, featured for Scotland at Under 17, 18 and 20 level, playing alongside former London Scots Jamie Stevenson and David Cherry.
Tyas has enjoyed his rugby season and is pleased to be continuing his rugby at London Scottish.
“I am really pleased to extend my stay at London Scottish for a third season. This season has gone well on a personal level playing a number of games and the chance to line out call in the Championship again has been a great experience which I am excited to progress with next season.”
Director of Rugby Dave Morris is pleased to keep Tyas on for his third season with the Scots.
“James is an important member of our playing squad so we are happy to keep him onboard with our squad for next season. He has been a solid and consistent player for us this season with his detail at the lineout key to our platform which we play off.”
