London Scottish is delighted to announce that current Head Coach, Joe Gray, will step up to the role of Director of Rugby as of the 2026/27 season taking the place of Bryan Redpath.

Joe joined London Scottish at the start of the 2022/23 season and has been at the Club for almost four years. In that time he has guided the Club through the Championship and its most successful season in a decade as the Club’s Head Coach.

With stints as England throwing consultant Coach and time spent working with the senior Harlequins set up Joe has vast experience at the top end of the game and is very excited to take on the role at London Scottish.

Commenting on the news Joe has said “I am very excited to step into the role, I want to thank the board, staff, coaches and players for all their support over the last few years and their faith in me going into next season.

Brush [Bryan Redpath] will be sorely missed with his experience across the game and running a professional set up but I’m excited to put my own stamp on it knowing he’ll just be a phone call away if I ever need anything.”

London Scottish President Stephen Pearson has also commented on the news when he said “as soon as Joe joined London Scottish back in 2022 we have all been incredibly impressed with him as a coach, person and rugby mind. He has done some brilliant things with the squad so far so when Bryan announced he would be leaving at the end of the season Joe was the obvious successor.

I am very happy to keep a core group of coaches and staff together for next season, this continuity will stand us in good stead going forwards. I wish Joe and his staff all the best heading into the new season but for the rest of this season as well.”
