Scrum half Josh Barton will stay at London Scottish for his fourth season with the Club after signing for the 2019/20 season.
Barton has flourished this season after impressing with his Championship Cup performances and is now a regular feature in the Greene King IPA Championship side. His recent controlling performance in the rain against Coventry at the RAG showed how far the young scrum half has come.
The former Millfield pupil came through the old London Scottish Academy before being given his opportunity with the 1stXV last season where he made seven appearances in all competitions. This year he has played twelve times, scoring twice including against Coventry, smartly scoring in the corner.
For large periods of his time with London Scottish Josh developed his game with Chinnor RFC. He was an instrumental member of their squad that won promotion to National One last season. These performances played a large role in being given opportunities with the 1stXV.
Josh stated how happy he is to be staying with the exiles. Saying, βI am very happy to have re-signed at Scottish. This year has been a very positive one regarding my development and we have a great bunch of boys in the squad. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead next season.β
Director of Rugby Dave Morris was similarly pleased to be keeping hold of Barton. He said, βIt is great to have Josh back on board for next season. His game has really developed this season and he has been rewarded with more Championship gametime. Hopefully he continues his good form and ends the season strongly and we can continue to develop a player, who came through the London Scottish ranks, next season.β
