Although it is a blank weekend for the First XV this weekend, there will still be some rugby action at the Athletic Ground on Saturday.
The London Scottish Academy side will face a Japanese touring side from Meiji University, Tokyo at 1pm. The side flew out on their tour the day before the tragic earthquake and tsunami hit Japan's eastern coastline, causing thousands of fatalities as well as massive disruption to power and water supplies in Tokyo itself.
Meiji University has a long-standing tradition of Rugby Union – they have won the second-highest number of All-Japanese University Rugby Championships in history, and play their home matches at the National Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.
The University itself is one of the largest and most prestigious in Japan, and includes several ex-Japanese Prime Ministers amongst its Alumni.
London Scottish are honoured to be playing host to the University side, and look forward to seeing as many people as possible down at the Athletic Ground to support both sides. The players and staff will also be staying at the ground for the afternoon to watch the RBS 6 Nations matches in the RAA Member's Bar.
A minutes silence in memory of the lives lost in the Japanese tragedy will be held prior to kick-off.
