London Scottish have made only one change to the starting XV that secured a nail-biting victory against Cornish Pirates 25-24 two weeks ago at home.
That change is in the forward pack where Kyle Whyte comes in for Phil Cringle at tight-head prop. The only other changes come on the replacements bench. Ollie Adams and Alex Toolis both return from injury and will be eager to get out on the playing field, whilst Jack Ingall also returns.
On this week’s selection, head coach Graham Steadman said: “I’ve rewarded the boys who secured the victory against Pirates last time out.
“Young Jack Ingall has been training really well, so he’s been rewarded with a place on the bench. It’s great to see Ollie Adams and Alex Toolis back to full fitness and I’m looking forward to seeing them out on the pitch.”
Having had a week away from the rugby field, this week sees the return of Championship Cup fixtures. “The break came at a good time, obviously the win set us up nicely before getting away and having some quality down time with family and friends.
“One or two of the boys have been abroad and have enjoyed a bit of sunshine. We’ve all certainly benefited from the break and we’re looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow against Yorkshire,” said Steadman.
The Exiles currently sit top of Pool 3 having secured victories over Cornish Pirates, Nottingham and Yorkshire Carnegie in the opening rounds of the competition. A victory this weekend would secure the Scots a place in the quarter finals, a feat which they have never achieved.
“We’ve not made to much of a big deal about it. The preparation this week has been outstanding, and the players are in a good place. There’s a great vibe about the training ground and we’re looking forward to putting in a top performance tomorrow,” said Steadman.
