London Scottish continued with their ambitious plans to achieve promotion yesterday by making a double swoop for established Premiership duo, Paul Volley and Ian Fullarton. Both join the London Scottish revolution, stepping down from Premiership action and are excited by the prospect of helping the famous exiles club back to it’s former level.

Volley, 36, a former London Wasps, Castres Olympique and Harlequins back rower, and one of the best Premiership players not to have represented England returns to his roots by making his Scottish debut against Chinnor on September 6th at The Athletic Ground, the club he started at in 1988.

On joining Scottish, Volley said, “I am excited by the challenge of getting Scottish back up the leagues, playing some good competitive rugby and having some fun along the way. It is a great set up and the calibre of player joining, shows the ambitions and exciting plans. It will be a fun season – I can’t wait”

Scottish International Fullarton, 29 is a real coup for Scottish. The former Borders, Edinburgh, Sales Sharks and Saracens second row had many offers but chose Scottish after listening to the plans, playing squad and future ambitions along with enormous Business networking opportunities within London area.

Fullarton, who made his Scotland debut against the All Blacks in 2000 and won 8 caps, is excited by the prospect of helping Scottish back to the Big Time, “I received many offers but Scottish went out of their way to make me feel welcome and help me with business opportunities in London. Obviously being a Scottish lad helps and I hope I can help to make this my spiritual home and the club get promotion this season. It may be a step down in playing level but with this squad of players it will make it a really great place to play and watch rugby next season. I can’t wait to get started”

Volley and Fullarton join ex premiership players, Simon Amor, James Brown, Gary Truman and Mark Soden at the club next season.

The season kicks off on 6th September with London Scottish at home to Chinnor, where all these players will be making their debut.
