London Scottish v Cornish Pirates Team News

15th January 2015
admin

London Scottish make two changes to their starting XV for this Friday’s clash against Cornish Pirates, sponsored by One Water, at Richmond Athletic Ground, 7.45pm kick-off.

Scrum-half Jamie Stevenson returns to the line-up for the first time since October following a knee injury with James Phillips replacing Chevvy Pennycook (concussion) in the back-row.

USA Eagles forward Tai Tuisamoa also makes a return to the matchday 22 taking Phillips' place on the bench.

Scottish will be aiming to back up last Saturday's impressive 26-22 win over Yorkshire Carnegie with another victory ahead of a week's break from competitive action.

Director of Rugby, Mike Friday, said: “We always like to play under the lights on a Friday night and let's hope it's a dry evening.

“I expect the game to be a tough battle, something we experienced at Mennaye Field back in September.

“They have a hard working, tough pack, Tom Kessell at nine is the man who makes them fizz, and they have some wheels on the outside as well.

“We are going to have to exert ourselves in the set piece first and foremost and then play with the same ambition in attack that we showed last week.

“The other crucial component will be our defensive discipline. If we get that right, hopefully we can control the pitch and the game.”

London Scottish are proud to be aiding Help for Heroes this Friday evening and ask that supporters give generously to their bucket collection.

Help for Heroes is a British charity launched in 2007 to help provide better facilities for British servicemen and women who have been wounded or injured in the line of duty.

All former and current British Servicemen can get into London Scottish home games for free (Clan and Highlander tickets).
