We are delighted to confirm that Matt Williams will remain with the club for a fourth season after signing a new contract extension.
The winger returned from a long-term injury for the second half of the 16/17 campaign and has now set his sights on getting back to his try-scoring best.
Scoring 15 tries in 39 appearances for the club has made the 28-year-old one of the fan-favourites, and Williams will train part-time whilst combing his work with rugby.
As well as his time with the Scots, the speedster has also represented England on the Sevens circuit and had spells at Sale Sharks, Bristol Rugby and Doncaster Knights.
Williams is looking forward to his next chapter at the Athletic Ground:
“I’m really pleased to be staying for another season. The main aim last year was to get back on the pitch so now I’m looking to push on and get back to playing regular rugby.”
He added: “It’s an exciting time for the club with a number of changes and with the squad we’ve got there is plenty of confidence that we can improve.”
