London Scottish is delighted to confirm that back Peter Lydon has signed a contract extension with the Club.
Since joining from Stade Francais last summer, Lydon has been one of the Greene King IPA Championship’s stand-out performers, playing a central role in Scottish’s play-off push.
His consistent performances throughout the campaign has seen him rack up 187 points, including six tries, making him the second highest points scorer in the league.
The Irishman has played in every one of Scottish’s 19 league matches this season and was nominated for the Championship Player of the Month award for February.
London Scottish Director of Rugby, Mike Friday, said: “We are extremely pleased that Peter has re-signed for another year. It’s a huge boost for the Club.
“His deadly left foot, be it out of hand or from the tee, has proved invaluable to the team and his contribution has been key to this season’s success.
“He continues to be a threat with his running game and is growing in confidence, whether he plays at 10, 12 or 15.”
Lydon said: “I'm really happy to have re-signed with London Scottish.
“I want to say a big thanks to all the fans as well as my teammates for helping me settle into life in London.
“With the squad and coaching team we have here at London Scottish, I believe we have the talent to kick-on next season and further improve on what has been a great season so far.”
He added: “For now the only focus is securing a place in the end of season play-offs and the squad is very determined to achieve that goal.”
London Scottish take on Nottingham Rugby at Richmond Athletic Ground tomorrow, Saturday April 11, 3pm kick-off, knowing victory will secure them a place in the end of season play-offs.
