London Scottish can today confirm that Peter Lydon will join Ealing Trailfinders at the start of next season.
The full-back has featured on 74 occasions for the Scots after joining at the beginning of the 2014/15 season, and has been a standout performer in the 15 shirt since signing from State Francais.
The 24-year-old has scored 642 points in his time at the Athletic Ground, making him one of the top scorers in the Greene King IPA Championship over the last three seasons.
His left boot has proved to be the match-winner on a number of occasions which has consolidated the Irishman one of the fan favourites, earning him the 2015/16 Player of the Season Award.
Peter Lydon has this message for London Scottish as he ends his three years at the club:
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with London Scottish and feel I have matured both on and off the pitch playing alongside some quality players and great friends.
Working with top class coaches like Peter Richards has also really helped to develop my game but I now feel the time is right to start a new chapter in my career and I'm excited about what the future holds at Ealing Trailfinders.
I will always be thankful to the loyal fans at London Scottish for their continued support.”
Head Coach Peter Richards was full of praise for the Irishman and wishes him all the best as he joins the Vallis Way club.
“Pete has been a great servant to the club over the past three years and has been one of our most consistent performers over that time.
Many will know him for his siege gun left foot, but he is more than that and has proved to be a potent running threat as well.
Ealing have got themselves a quality player and on behalf of London Scottish I would like to wish Pete the best of fortune for the future.”
