This year we have Cardiff Blues and Chinnor all lined up for you.
Preseason kicks off with a shared training session with Cardiff Blues on Friday 16th August at the RAG, to which entrance will be free! Make sure you get yourself down to the ground for 3pm to watch the side train alongside the men in Blue.
“I’m delighted to welcome Cardiff Blues to the RAG. Before joining London Scottish, I was with the Blues and know how strong an organisation they are,” said head coach Graham Steadman.
“The joint training session is a great opportunity for both squads to build on their preseason work and a great opportunity for individuals in both squads to catch the selectors’ eyes.”
The Blues are looking to improve on the form they built up last season and Steadman said: “It didn’t surprise me at all that they finished last season well and I’m sure that upward trend will continue.”
Next up will be a friendly match against the now established National 1 side, Chinnor, on Saturday 24th August, to which entry will also be free of charge! Kick off will be at 3pm. There will be no lunch provided at the club, but the bar will be open.
Recent London Scottish players to have joined Chinnor include Dan George, Craig Holland and Matt Marley, any or all of whom we will be delighted to welcome back to the RAG.
Over the past few seasons several London Scottish players have benefited from game time on loan at Chinnor and more likely than not others will follow in their footsteps this season to the benefit of all.
On the fixture Steadman said: “The timing of this fixture is ideal – Chinnor’s National 1 campaign begins two weeks after this preseason game.
“Both squads need and will welcome this full dress rehearsal for the bigger tests to follow.”
We will be releasing more information on our preseason fixture against Edinburgh next week.
