This year we round off our preseason fixtures with an away game to Edinburgh at BT Murrayfield on Saturday, August 31st at 2pm.
The squad will be travelling up to Perth on the Wednesday before the match and will be staying at Glenalmond College, which has recently become one of our partners.
Thursday will consist of a training day, which Glenalmond staff are invited along to watch.
On Friday a captains’ run will take place before the side head over to Edinburgh, where the team will give a coaching session to the Edinburgh University RFC. They’ll then have time off to enjoy the sites and have down time, before having to switch their focus to the match the following day.
Looking ahead to the fixture, head coach Graham Steadman said: “It’s great for our guys to spend a bit of time together for the best part of five days and for us to just get a real feel for the new players, plus the new combinations. I feel that we will certainly come back as a stronger group of players and staff.”
The fixture is not just a great opportunity for the supporters to see the first XV team in action, but also for the families of the players who are based in Scotland.
“I think the fixture definitely integrates Lewis Wynne’s and Alex Toolis’s families, for example. There are quite a few of our players who have families based up in Scotland and it gives them an opportunity to come and see their sons play,” said Steadman.
We would like to encourage as many supporters as possible to make their way to watch the side play and to experience the amazing atmosphere at BT Murrayfield. We look forward to seeing as many of you there cheering on the side.
