Rory Bartle signs for Jersey Reds after two seasons at the Athletic Ground

Rory Bartle will leave London Scottish after signing for Jersey Reds ahead of the 2017/18 season.

The Welshman spent two seasons at the Athletic Ground, making 47 appearances during his time at the club.

Bartle captained the Scots during the 16/17 campaign, with his versatility as both second-row and back-row making him a real asset to the Channel Island club.

The 20-year-old was awarded man of the match against Jersey in February which showed his new club what he is capable of, and after already representing Wales at Under 20 level, Bartle is a promising prospect.

On behalf of the club, Team Manager Doug Cowie wishes Rory all the best for his new challenge.

“Rory leaves us at the end of this, his second season, at Scottish. Injuries and playing resources throughout the 2016-17 campaign dictated that Rory had to spend most of his time playing in the second row.

His preference, however, is playing at blindside flanker, but it's testament to his talent that he excelled in both positions. We wish him every success in Jersey and we look forward to seeing his career develop further.”
