Scots and Richmond Students To Lock-Horns on Hogmanay

18th December 2014

On New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31, 1.30pm kick-off, it will be the turn of the London Scottish U21 Students to host Richmond U21 Students in our traditional Hogmanay fixture.

This game has been played for many many years and started out as an annual game between England Students and Scotland Students.

The two West London clubs continued the Festive tradition with the historic fixture once again taking place on the main pitch at Richmond Athletic Ground this year.

Academy coach and Club Developement Manager, Corne Du Rand, said: “This fixture celebrates the great traditions of rugby and many of our students coming back from University for the festive period want a place in the starting line-up.

“They combine with the rest of our U21s and Academy boys to make it a really special occasion and it's a great way for us to continue their association with London Scottish.”

The last few years this fixture has been dominated by Richmond.

The London Scottish U21 Rampant Lions came close last season but Richmond’s students had more experience that was ultimately the difference in the game.

The bar will be open and the traditional chicken curry will be available for all supporters on the day!

Come and start your New Year celebrations early!

The players will appreciated your support.
