London Scottish is delighted to announce the double signing of Will Carrick-Smith from Exeter Chiefs, and Tyrone Moran from Leinster.
Both players add considerable depth to the forward pack, with Carrick-Smith supplementing the second-row, and Moran a hooker.
Carrick-Smith, the 6’11” second row is looking to help the squad build on last season’s third-placed finish.
“I’m very pleased to be joining London Scottish, they play good quality rugby and it’s the right club for me to improve my game.” Said the 23-year-old.
Carrick-Smith had previously been at Exeter for four seasons, and made 11 appearances for the Chiefs before moving to the Athletic Ground.
He added: “I’m already settling in well after just one training session, and I’m excited about the new season ahead.”
Tyrone Moran joins Scottish from Leinster, and hopes to transfer the experience gained in Dublin to Richmond ahead of the new Greene King IPA Championship season beginning on Friday, 4th September at 19:00 against Moseley.
“I hope to make a mark in the club and a name for myself within the English system. I’m excited to experience a different style of rugby and a new competition.” Said the Irishman.
He continued: “It is great to have this opportunity to train and play with this talented team under Peter Richards and Tim Payne. They management and players have been very accommodating.”
Head Coach Peter Richards said: “They are both great signings for the club and are going to offer great competition and depth at hooker and second-row.
“They are physical players and we are looking forward to seeing them get a run out in next week’s friendly against Rotherham.
“Will has Premiership experience with Exeter and Tyrone Pro12 experience with Leinster so it is great to be able to bring in this calibre of player into our squad.”
