Scots make two changes for Jersey clash at the Athletic Ground

London Scottish have named their team to face Jersey Reds in tomorrow’s huge match at the Athletic Ground.

The Reds currently sit just one place below the Scots in the table, making the fixture a crucial one as the battle for the top four heats up.

Scottish have made two changes to the starting line-up with one positional change in the forwards as they look to get their Championship season back on track.

Grant Shiells, David Cherry and Dan Koroi start in the front-row, with captain Rory Bartle and Wilhelm van der Sluys in the second-row. Ifereimi Boladau moves to blindside flanker, with Danny Kenny at openside and Ally Miller moving to number eight.

Both changes come at half back with Jamie Stevenson starting at scrum-half alongside George Cullen at fly-half. Ross Neal and Robbie Fergusson continue their centre partnership, with Jason Harries, Alec Coombes and Peter Lydon making up an unchanged back-three.

Jonny Harris, Worcester hooker Matt Williams and Ewan McQuillin offer a front-row alternative, with second-row Alex Woolford in line to make his debut from the bench. Joe Atkinson covers the rest of the pack, whilst Ed Hoadley and Harry Sheppard complete the match day squad.

Prop Grant Shiells is looking forward to the next block of matches as the Scots look to improve their form.

“Jersey are a big bunch of boys with an emphasis on their pack so we’ll have to front up. Hopefully the weather will be good so we can play some running rugby which is when we’ve been at our best.”
