Scots name side to take on Bedford Blues at the Athletic Ground

London Scottish have named their team to face Bedford Blues in tomorrow’s Greene King IPA Championship clash at the Athletic Ground.

The starting line-up features two changes from the side that regained the Bill and Temple Quaich in last weekend’s Athletic Ground Derby against Richmond, with Huw Taylor and Matt Williams both earning starts.

The Scots are in search of back-to-back wins for the first time since December which would give them a huge boost as they look to climb the Championship table.

Jonny Harris, David Cherry and Ewan McQuillin start in the front-row, with Captain Rory Bartle and Neale Patrick in the second-row. Huw Taylor comes in to the team at blindside flanker, alongside Joe Atkinson and Ifereimi Boladau in the back-row.

Jamie Stevenson and Harry Sheppard continue their half-back partnership, with Alec Coombes and Robbie Fergusson in the centre. Jason Harries, Matt Williams and Peter Lydon make up a threatening looking back-three.

Dan Koroi, Grant Shiells and Phil Cringle offer a front-row alternative, with Charlie Hewitt and Matt Marley covering the rest of the pack. Versatile back-line duo Craig Holland and Ben Rath complete the match day squad.

Winger Jason Harries is looking to build on the win last weekend as the Scots aim to end the season on a high.

“Richmond was a massive win for us. We’ve been close to getting the win in recent weeks but to get it in the local derby with all of the history behind it was great.”

He added: “Bedford are a good side and play an expansive game with some very dangerous backs so we will have to be strong in defence and when we get the opportunity to play will need to take our chances.”
