Scots to compete in Glasgow Sevens this weekend

10th May 2017

London Scottish will compete in the upcoming Glasgow Sevens this weekend, with a young and exciting squad heading to Cartha Queens Park Rugby Club.

It is the first time that the club have entered this competition, and they will take on some big challenges as they look to give a positive account of themselves in the sevens format.

The Scots have been drawn in a pool alongside GHK and Whitecraigs, which will provide an exciting challenge which gets underway at 13:00 on Saturday.

Corne Du Rand will manage the team, with the squad as follows:

Connor Hayhow
Josh Barton
Aaron Booth
Lucas Vexler
Andrew Nurse
James Urquhart
Peter Austin
Josh Edwards
Jemel Edwards

Du Rand is expecting a tough challenge, but says it is an exciting opportunity for the squad:

“We are excited to take the trip up to Scotland and delighted to have accepted the invitation.

With a group of young talent players, we know there will be energy in abundance so we’ll look to use that as an advantage.

The main aims will be to enjoy it, entertain at the tournament and build some good friendships in Glasgow!”
