Scottish forced to reshuffle side for trip to Ashton Gate

An extensive injury list for London Scottish has meant that Dave Morris has had to reshuffle his side for this weekend’s trip to Greene King IPA Championship table-toppers Bristol.

Injuries to influential centre and ex-Bristol player Ben Mosses along with captain Danny Kenny, scrum half Alex Walker, young winger Connor Hayhow, back rowers Kyle Baillie and Chris Walker and prop Ewan McQuillin means that Morris has had to utilise his full squad depth for this weekend’s game.

Even with an extended injury list, the Scots will still be looking to build on their much-improved performance against Doncaster Knights last weekend.

Scottish will be looking to cut out the individual errors that were still evident against Doncaster when they take on the unbeaten Bristol.

With skipper Danny Kenny fighting a foot injury, Jonathan Mills will lead the side out as captain at Ashton Gate.

Morris has selected a familiar front row with Jonny Harris and Phil Cringle filling the 1 and 3 jerseys with Loughborough University alumni Isaac Miller starting at Hooker.

Namibian International Tjiuee Uanivi returns to the side after missing out against the Knights and partners Jonathan Mills in the second row.

Exeter University graduate Matt Eliet keeps his place at blindside flanker and is joined by Matt Marley, who makes his first start of the year. James Tyas replaced Kenny at number eight. Double try-scorer from the previous weekend, Joe Atkinson moves down to the replacements bench.

Ed Hoadley continues at scrum half as Jake Sharp starts in the 10 jersey. Fraser Lyle shifts to inside centre, replacing Ben Mosses who misses the opportunity to play against his former side. Ross Neal continues at outside centre.

The back three remains unchanged from the Doncaster game with Nick Scott, Matt Williams and Craig Holland all retaining their places.

Gregor Gillanders and Alec Coombes feature for Scottish for the first time this year as they are named on the replacements bench.

London Scottish (15-1): Holland, Williams, Neal, Lyle, Scott, Sharp, Hoadley; Tyas, Marley, Eliet, Uanivi, Mills ©, Cringle, Miller, Harris.

Replacements: Austin, Onyeama Christie, Waldren, Gillanders, Atkinson, Barton, Coombes.
